Day 01 – Airport / Negombo

Arrival at the Colombo Airport You will be met by our English speaking chauffeur Guide /Representative and will offer assistance. Thereafter leave for Negombo (10 km – transfer time approx. 30 minutes)

P.M. City Tour of Negombo is a charismatic fishing town north of Colombo, located a mere 10km from the international airport. Set amidst lush groves of coconut palms, it breathes the spirit of the sea. Negombo is a gourmet’s paradise with sea food aplenty. Old – world fishing craft, like the outrigger canoe and the catamaran, bring seer, skip jack, herring, mullet and amber jack, while lobster and prawn are caught in the lagoon

Day 02 – Negombo / Pinnawala / Kandy

After breakfast leave for Kandy at 10:00 a.m. (115 km – transfer time approx. 03 hours)

En-route visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage in time to witness the bathing and bottle feeding of baby elephants at 1:15 p.m.This orphanage was established to feed nurse and house young elephants found abandoned by their mothers. Often the young ones fall into pits and ravines in their request for water during drought period. The Elephants bathe in rivers and Baby Elephants can be seen fed with milk.

Thereafter visit Next visit the Royal Botanical Garden The most beautiful in the world and begun as a pleasure garden by a Sinhala King. Every variety tropical and temperate tree and flower is cultivated here and special houses with orchids and e cacti are too beautiful to be true.

Day 03 – Dalada / Temple / Kandy

After breakfast visit the Temple of the Tooth relic Dalada Maligawa Ceremony starts at 9.30am. Dalada Maligawa is the Temple of the sacred Tooth Relic

in Kandy is the most venerated place of worship for Buddhists throughout the world. Built in the 16th century this temple houses the sacred Tooth Relic of the Buddha brought to Sri Lanka from the Kalinga province in ancient India in the 4th century AD. Several buildings have been added to the temple complex by successive rulers, the latest being the Golden Canopy over the inner shrine where the Tooth Relic is placed. Originally the Temple was within the King’s palace complex as it was the Symbol of Royal Authority.

Thereafter City Tour.

At 5:00 p.m. witness a Cultural Performance. Traditional Kandyan and Low Country Dances of Sri Lanka (Blowing of the conch-Shell and Drum Orchestra, Pooja Dance, Panteru Netum, Cobra Dance, Mask Dance, Mayura Vannama, Raban Dance, Ves Dance, Fire Dance,Fire Walking)

Day 04 – Kandy / Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast leave for Nuwara Eliya (85 km – transfer time approx. 02 hours)

En route visit a tea factory/plantation and Ramboda water falls

NuwaNuwara Eliya. This town seems like a piece of English district. Tudor-style and Victorian homes look across the blue lake. These buildings are the other architectural monuments to the English, the Post Office, the English country house like Hill Club with its hunting pictures, mounted hunting trophies and fish, Anglican Church and private residence. The Golf course here is one of the best in Asia.

P.m. visit Seetha Amman Temple – Ramayana.

Day 05 – Nuwara Eliya / Bandarawella

After breakfast you will be transferred to Nanu Oya railway station for a short train journey to Bandarawela, at 9:30 a.m. train beautiful scenery can be seen from the train.

Bandarawela is an unhurried, unpretentious hill-country town which exists to supply the needs of the tea plantation workers, farmers and its hardworking inhabitants. The people of Bandarawela enjoy a simple way of life; where school children and grandparents together work the fami ly plot for the home's requirement of fruit and vegetable and also tend their cattle and goats.

Another distinctive feature of Bandarawela is the colonial flavor still preserved in the many old buildings including the Bandarawela Hotel and the old Cargill's Supermarket.

P.m. visit The Dhowa rock temple in Bandarawella, is famous for its large unfinished Buddha image, carved into the rock face, which is considered an example of Mahayana sculpture. The temple dates back over 2000 years. The area gained the name Dhowa as it is located within a ring of mountains, with a river which flows across the plateau

Day 06 – Bandarawela / Haputale / Ratnapura / Colombo

After breakfast leave for Colombo via Haputale (195 km – transfer time approx. 05 hours)

En-route visit the (Adisham Bungalow) in Haputale and (Lipton's Seat)

This is an old Benedictine monastery built in the shape of a small castle.

(You may be able to buy fresh fruit jams/preserves and juices prepared by the monks from fruit grown in their garden.)

Lipton's Seat is a high observation point in the hills of Poonagala. Located on the top of the town's namesake, Poonagala Hill, it is also near the Dambatenne Tea Factory. Lipton's Seat is so named because the famed Scottish baron and tea planter Sir Thomas Lipton used it as the seat to survey his empire in a time long.

Ratnapura is known as the city of Gems in Sri Lanka on the way visit Gem Pits and mine to see how they work.

Day 07 – City Tour of Colombo / Airport

After breakfast visit Colombo City

Colombo is a metropolitan city with a population of nearly one million. It is the commercial Capital of Sri Lanka, which keeps pace with modern developments while preserving the Old World charms. Among the many places of interest in the City are the Fort, the Old Parliament House (presently the Presidential Secretariat),Galle face terrace, Buddhist temples, Old Churches, Hindu temples, Mosques, the Independence Hall, Bandaranaike memorial hall. Finally visit St. Anthony's historical and miraculous Church in Kochikade, Colombo.

After city tour transfer to the Airport for the connecting Flight (Departure)
